Xherdan Shaqiri Liverpool Medical date booked as deal would be finalized.

Liverpool have agreed a fee for Stoke City’s Xherdan Shaqiri having activated the player’s £13.75million release clause. The swiss star is set to become Jürgen Klopp’s third signing of the summer as Liverpool

Recently when asked about Liverpool interest in him but more specifically the stadium, Shaqiri said: “Anfield is great, definitely. I can’t tell you anything right now. I think my agents take care of my future. I’m focusing on the national team right now.”

A move to Liverpool will see him become a rotational player which may benefit him, at Stoke he was constantly in the limelight and pressure was heaped upon him to produce. This bit-part role will allow him to slot in with a point to prove and a place in the team to earn, this will give him something to fight for and working under Klopp will also be a huge motivator.

stoke says shaqiri deal was a steal.

The Telegraph‘s John Percy was the first to break the news late Thursday night that the Red’s have agreed to pay the bargain £13.75m fee required to bring the pacy winger to Anfield. A medical has booked for Friday after which the 26-year-old will be formally revealed.

The signing that represents the depth recruitment along the attacking band Michael Edwards and the recruitment team will have been hoping for as Liverpool look to bolster the options behind the front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane for the upcoming season.

At 26 years of age, the Swiss international is in the form of his life and while he might not be the world beater that Dybala or Dembele are, he is still a player capable of match-winning moments and that’s exactly what Liverpool need from the bench.

With eight goals and seven assists in the 2017-18 season as well as a goal and an assist in leading Switzerland to the World Cup round of 16, the man known as the Magical Dwarf represents a smart, affordable Premier League-proven addition that will bolster Klopp’s options going into the new season.

For Shaqiri, the move is a chance to kickstart a once promising career that has seen him stall at Bayern Munich and Inter Milan before suffering relegation with Stoke City last term.

The signing together with the arrivals of Fabinho and Naby Keita takes Liverpool’s summer spending over the £100m mark although that should not preclude a revival of a deal for Lyon’s Nabil Fekir following the end of the World Cup on Sunday.
