Sadio Mane hails The Impact of Dominic Solanke after solid Stoke Display.
Sadio Mane is excited about the potential of young Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke.
The 20-year-old frontman shone on his full Premier League debut for the Reds in Wednesday’s 3-0 win at Stoke City.
Solanke, who took his senior England bow earlier this month, created the opener for Mane with a clever pass and the Senegal international was impressed by his all-round contribution.
“I think Dom did really well,” Sadio Mane
“He played a great pass through to me for the first goal.
“He’s still very young but I’ve seen him improve during his first few months at the club.
“It was great for him to get an opportunity and I am happy for him. I tried to help Dom as much as I could. I know he’s going to get better and better.”
After being rested against Chelsea, Mane led the charge on his return to the side at Stoke. The left winger coolly converted his first Premier League goal since August.
“It was special for me to finally score again in the Premier League again but the most important thing is that the goal helped the team to win,” Mane said.
“It’s not a problem for me being put on the bench for a game. We all know that we have a lot of games in different competitions and the manager has a strong squad to pick from.
“It can help you having a rest one game as it means you are fresh for the next one. It was a good performance and now we have to perform like that again at Brighton.”
Mane helped wrap up the points when he darted away from Darren Fletcher and crossed for Mohamed Salah, who volleyed home emphatically. The Reds’ top scorer soon bagged a second - much to the delight of Mane.
“I am so happy for him. He is scoring so many goals,” he added. It’s good that we have so many players who can contribute.
“It’s easy to play alongside someone as good as Mo. I just knew where he would be for his first goal.”
