Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir has reportedly strike a deal with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on a move to Anfield.
Liverpool are reported to have agreed a £62 million fee with Lyon to secure the signing of the France international Nabil Fekir this summer.
The 24-year-old has been strongly tipped to join the Reds in recent months as Klopp still looks for a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who joined Barcelona back in January, and the soon to be departed Emre Can.
And according to France Football and L’Equipe journalist, Nabil Djellit, Fekir and Klopp have an understanding over a transfer. a five-year deal had been agreed for the player, with a fee of £61.5million (€70million), which included a bonus.
Fekir’s creativity, and his comfort in possession, could allow him to feed the likes of Mane and Salah in Klopp’s lightning-fast counter-attacking system, while his overlapping runs would provide another outlet in the final third.
On Klopp and Fekir, Djellit tweeted: “The two men met at the beginning of the year. There’s a verbal agreement between them.
“Everything else, agreement between clubs, possible competition from others.
“Confirmed but not signed, a bit like Tuchel (to PSG)!”
However, it remains to be seen how concrete these claims are, despite their emphatic tone, with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas telling reporters on the same day that “we’ve had no contact with Liverpool today.”
“Nabil Fekir is here. We hope to keep him next year to play in the Champions League,” he added.
Chelsea are also rumoured suitors for the France star, while Liverpool still have a number of midfield targets they are looking at – with the latest reports suggesting that a Real Madrid star is also on their radar.
