Mohamed Salah was named Man of the Match as Liverpool were held to a 3-3 draw by Watford in their Premier League opener on Saturday.
The Egypt international was fouled for a penalty in the 57th minute that resulted in the Reds’ second goal before he got his own name on the scoresheet two minutes later.
The 25-year-old winger had five attempts during their away match at Vicarage Road before he was subbed off for James Milner four minutes from time.
Salah: Liverpool a dream for me since I was young
This marked Salah’s competitive debut for the club after he had an impressive pre-season that saw him score four goals in six friendlies with the Anfield side.
Salah became Liverpool’s record signing after joining the Reds in a £42m deal in June from Serie A side AS Roma, a deal which was praised by a number of former Liverpool players including former Anfield legend Micahel Owen.
Thompson: Salah will be a huge asset to Liverpool
He was also hailed by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp ahead of the Watford game, as the German coach said that Salah’s pace will boost the Reds’ impact as he praised his technique and finishing ability.
