Liverpool boss has revealed that he had no worries about breaking the club’s transfer record to bring Mohamed Salah to Anfield during the summer. Liverpool paid Italian giants Roma an initial £37m to sign the Egypt international in June.

Salah struggled to make his mark at Chelsea after joining the London club from Basel in 2014, but scored 19 times for Roma during the 2016-17 campaign to earn another big move.

The 25-year-old has managed 12 goals in all competitions for Liverpool this season – including a brace against West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.
Klopp has revealed that Liverpool’s entire backroom staff were behind the deal to bring Salah to Anfield ahead of the 2017-18 season.

“We watched him so often, saw him so often. The scouting department was really behind me and wanted to do it even earlier so that nobody else could jump in. We had a lot of different options but he was the decision of all of us.

“When you find a situation where everybody who is doing the job agrees about a player then you can be sure it will work. Yes, it is really nice to have him in the team.

“He is a real goal threat. He’s an offensive midfield player who is more a striker, that’s true, and he needed to adapt a little bit to the different style.”

Despite concerns over Liverpool’s defence, the Reds have only lost two of their 11 Premier League matches this season.

Liverpool will be hosting Southampton at home after international break Nov 18, after two impressive back to back winning.
