Michael Owen:  ''I don’t think anyone predicted he would score 43 goals by now for the club.''

Liverpool winger Mohammed salah is firing in all cylinder this season as he has a stagggering  43goals in all competition this season for the mersey side and still counting. The winger form has got everybody talking after his failed mission in the premier league with Mourinho's Chelsea.

The winger equals the record of 31 goals scored in the premier league in a single season with his goal against West brom in their 2-2 draw. And also he's six goals away to equal the 47 goals scored by fomer Liverpool Legend Ian rush in a single season which has stood since 1981.

Liverpool striker Michael Owen believes Mohamed Salah is starting to make all the club’s legends look ‘average’.

The 38-year-old scored 159 goals in 297 appearances for the club before making the switch to Real Madrid back in 2004. However, despite his phenomenal goalscoring record he believes Salah is starting to make all other Liverpool’s recent greats look very ordinary.

‘He is beginning to make me and the likes of Robbie Fowler, Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez look average,’ Owen told The Daily Mail. ‘And I don’t think anyone predicted he would score 43 goals by now for the club.

‘If there is one moment which exemplified the improvement, it was the chipped goal he scored at the Etihad to make it 1-1 against Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final second leg.

‘I didn’t have him down as a natural goal-scorer at the start of the season. He was still a little like Raheem Sterling: raw and picking the wrong finish. ‘He scored a lot but he missed a lot, too. But that chip against City changed my mind.

With great goal-scorers, their mind works slower when they get a chance.’

The Egypt forward has scored 43 goals in 45 games this season and has played a huge role in the Reds making the last four of the Champions League.
