Klopp: ''Salah has fully recovered''. as him and Mane will not fixture in Sunday's Friendly match against Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insisted Mohammed Salah is over with his shoulder injury which he suffered in their Champions League Final match in Kiev.

The 26-year-old sustained the injury in the 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in Kiev on 26 May, and missed Egypt's first World Cup game, the 1-0 defeat to Uruguay on 15 June.

He recovered to feature in the 3-1 defeat to Russia on 19 June and the 2-1 defeat to Saudi Arabia six days later, netting Egypt's goal in each game.

“He has fully recovered,” Klopp told Liverpool's official website.

“We were constantly in contact [during the World Cup] and he was fine. Shoulder-wise, he had no problems. We were in really close contact and it was clear that if he had any problems still then he would have waited for the next game.

“He is a very serious person and he knows that it’s his career. Whatever people want from you, if you can’t, you can’t. But he was completely fine and is completely fine now."

The former Roma winger has joined up with the rest of the Liverpool squad for the pre-season tour of the United States but Klopp says he and his fellow World Cup participant, Senegal forward Sadio Mane, will not feature in Sunday's International Champions Cup tie against Borussia Dortmund.

“It’s good to have them back and they can start training now and all that stuff. It was not a long time they were out but I think it was very important that they had at least three weeks," the German continued.

“Now they still have a good basis. They look very fit – we made tests yesterday.

"Both [Mane and Salah] have fantastic values so they did the work they had to do, so now they can start quicker than the rest of the team from another basis.

"That’s good for us but the season starts on August 12, not this week, so good.”
