Why Nabil Fekir rumoured medical report could mean progress for Liverpool.
Report from French journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin had suggested that Fekir would be travelling to Merseyside on Sunday for a medical. as he tweeted on his social media account that a deal between the 24 years old and the Mersey side is very close, with Medical set to be had on Sunday.
As it was, The Echo countered the claims, by saying that Liverpool have told them that the deal is not on a brink of being completed. Though, it might comes as a 'heartbreak' for the kops but is increasingly making the deal very imminent and a clear indication that Fekir is set to join the Reds.
The addition of quality like Nabil Fekir in the Liverpool Lineups next season could mark a positive yield for Jurgen Klopp as he looks set to booster their ''attacking force'' in the transfer window this season, after already snapping up Naby Keita and Monaco's Fabinho as the later can supply the attacking trio of Firmino, Salah and Mane with more depth.
The French International is progressing into Europe's most talented attacking midfielder after his Scintillating-season with Lyon, as he earn a called up in the World Cup duties.
Early last Month Sadio Mane speaks out concerning Fekir Possible Anfield switch as he claims ''it'll be fire.'' if the French man signed up.
“Nabil is a very great player, if that’s the case, we will be really happy to have him here,” he said when told of the rumours.
“I think he would do very good things with us. We always need this kind of player, if we have him it’ll be fire!”
Slotting Fekir into a starting lineup that also includes Mane, Salah, Firmino and the incoming Naby Keita may require a tactical shift from Klopp, with the Lyon captain best as a No. 10.
He could operate in the most advanced role in Liverpool’s three-man midfield, with Keita fielded alongside him and a deep-lying midfielder behind them.
Fekir’s creativity, and his comfort in possession, could allow him to feed the likes of Mane and Salah in Klopp’s lightning-fast counter-attacking system, while his overlapping runs would provide another outlet in the final third.
