''I can’t see Karius playing again for Liverpool'' insists former Reds star Danny Murphy.

Former Liverpool star Danny Murphy claims Loris Karius is unlikely to play for Liverpool again after his schoolboy mistakes in the Champions League final in Kiev.

Karius was on course for the number one shirt when he overthrown Mignolet but now likely to loose that spot as he will fall out of favour with the kop after his blunder.

The German goalkeeper made two huge gaffes in their 3-1 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid, with the player left inconsolable at the final whistle.

With the Reds suffering several blunders between the sticks in recent years, it now seems more likely they will move to sign a new No.1.

And Murphy feels due to the size of the mistakes in the biggest game in European football, Karius’ position at Anfield is now untenable.

''I actually feel sorry for him. I really do,” he told talkSPORT. “Nobody goes into a game wanting to make mistakes.''

''Unfortunately I don’t think he’ll play in a Liverpool shirt again. It’s impossible for him.''

''I think with the magnitude of the mistakes and the enormity of the game, the supporters will struggle with him being in goal for them and the continual ribbing he will get week in, week out, wherever he goes – that’s going to be huge pressure for him.''

''I just can’t see him playing [for Liverpool] again. That’s not being dramatic, that’s a reality of the situation.''
