JAMIE CARRAGHER: MOHAMMED SALAH IS LIKELY TO RIVAL DE BRUYNE FOR THE PFA PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD.






















Liverpool Winger Mohammed Salah has being in a blistering Form ever since his  £36.9m move from AS Roma, banging goals in all corners without control and forming a formidable partnership with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino this season as the new ''Fab Three''.


The Egyptian International has make so much impact in front of goals this seaason scoring a combined total of 31 goals in just 37 appearance for the Mersey side. Scooping Individual awards upon awards both In Premier League, Europe, Countryside and Continent.

Mohammed is going head to head with  Tottenham Harry Kane for the Premier League Golden Boot and also most likely to Rival Manchester City Star Kevin De Bruyne for the PFA Player of the Year.

And Carragher believes that Salah is more than capable of eclipsing the Belgian and claiming the crown for himself in the last few months of the season.

“If you had asked me a few months ago who deserved this year’s accolade I would have said it must be De Bruyne,” he told The Telegraph.

“Especially given the massive gap between the champions-elect and the rest. It will be no surprise if City’s domestic dominance ensures their best player is rewarded.

“But with respect to the Belgian, the more I assess Salah’s contribution, the more I feel he deserves to push De Bruyne far closer than I imagined.

“He has the potential to go ahead in the next few weeks, particularly if he produces a match-winning performance at Old Trafford next weekend.

“Not so long ago I suggested no Liverpool signing has ever made a better start to their Premier League career than Salah. Now I will go further.

“No signing at any English club has made a better start to their Premier League career than Salah.

“There are those who have had greater overall influence on a team – turning them into trophy winners - but in terms of individual numbers Salah’s are staggering for a new recruit.”

Liverpool are currently third in the Premier League, two points behind second-placed Manchester United.

They return to action tomorrow as they welcome struggling Newcastle to Anfield.
