Liverpool Selling Philippe Coutinho ''now'' was the right decision - Ian Wright
Coutinho won't be a big Loss |
That’s according to Ian Wright who’s praised the Reds for finally getting a deal done.
The midfield maestro is moving Barca from Liverpool subject to a medical for a fee of £142m. Jurgen Klopp had already wanted to sanction a move for his prizzed asset in the summer.
However, the Anfield heavyweights have given in to pressure from Barca and Coutinho.Wright reckons the former Inter Milan ace won’t be a big loss to Liverpool though.
“I think this is the best possible time for Liverpool to actually sell him,” the Arsenal legend said.
“I just think at the moment with the way they’re playing and the way their forwards are playing, I don’t think they will miss him as much.
“They’ve done pretty well when he’s not played as well, Coutinho.
“Of course he’s a quality player, but at the same time I think they’re playing well enough at the minute where you can’t turn down that money.”
Alan Shearer also admit that, it will be difficult for Klopp to sign in a good replacement this month.
“It’s very difficult to go and get a replacement in this month now,” Sheared said.
“I think it wouldn’t surprise me if they waited until the end of the season and then do it then. But, it’s a big fee for him.”
