''IT’S REALLY FRUSTRATING''- JOE GOMEZ GIVES VERDICT AFTER DERBY DRAW
Joe Gomez voices out his frustration following a derby draw which saw Liverpool waste another vital away 3 points despite dominating for 75 minutes of a largely one-sided 229th Merseyside derby.
The right back was one of the Reds standout performers on a frustrating day for Liverpool, and remained a constant threat on the right-hand side throughout the 90 minutes.
Dejan Lovren conceded a late penalty which was converted by Wayne Rooney, meaning the Reds dropped points from a leading position for the second consecutive league game at Anfield.
Gomez told LFCTV: “It’s frustrating – we dominated through the football we play. They’ve got a penalty and equalised, all our hard work was thrown away.
“It’s really frustrating – I think it was very soft. I don’t think it was a penalty.
“We’ve seen teams sit deep a few times at Anfield this season – they came here with that game plan – we’ve just got to move on.
“It’s hard to break down a block like that – we’ve got to take the positives out of the game and move on to Wednesday.”
The Reds now play 7 games in 21 games, kicking off with West Bromwich Albion at Anfield on Wednesday.
