Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has admitted that he is honoured to be linked with Juventus as the uncertainty regarding his future persists.
Can’s current Liverpool contract expires in June next year and the Germany international is free to talk to foreign clubs about a possible deal from January.
Juventus have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Can and the 23-year-old is pleased with the speculation.
Can told Kicker (via The Independent):
“It’s always an honour to receive an offer from such a renowned club, but currently I am only focused on the season with Liverpool.
“My agent takes care of the rest.
“The Premier League is just a really cool league, the most interesting in the world, but you must respect other big clubs and leagues.
“You never know what will happen. And I don’t know what Jurgen Klopp plans.”
Emre Can has attempted 314 passes in the Premier League this season.
Liverpool will surely be hugely reluctant to lose Can given the progress that he has made since joining the club from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014 but Klopp has an array of midfield options at his disposal, which will be added to next season by the arrival of Naby Keita from RB Leipzig.
Can has broken up play effectively for Liverpool this season – he has averaged four defensive actions per game in the Premier League – and he has also kept the ball well, completing 85 per cent of his attempted passes.Emre Can has an average pass length of 18m in the Premeir League this season
