LIVERPOOL SET FOR INJURY WOES AS MATIP, LOVREN AND CAN PICK UP KNOCKS

Liverpool defenders Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren, and midfielder Emre Can are all doubts for Liverpool’s return to the King Power Stadium on Saturday, according to journalist Paul Joyce.
The Reds have had a nightmare start to the season in terms of injuries, with Lovren having a persistent back problem which has kept him out of action for the Reds’ last two fixtures.
Can and Matip picked up knocks in the Reds’ last Premier League outing, a frustrating 1-1 home draw against a stubborn Burnley side.
Klopp confirmed that all three players will be assessed before the clash with Leicester and will take a fitness test to determine whether they will play or not.
The German manager said today:
“It’s nothing major with Dejan but it was enough to keep him out of two games and he is not in training so far, so that means he is also a doubt for the weekend, which is not too cool.
“It’s the same with Joel Matip and Emre Can. They have little bits from the last game so we have to see if they can be back in training today or tomorrow, but it’s not sure at the moment.”
The Reds face Leicester at 5:30pm on Saturday, in the same setting as their recent 2-0 Carabao Cup defeat to the Foxes.
