'We are still in talks' - Jurgen Klopp promises for more new possible faces

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed his club are still working on transfer deals ahead of next Thursday’s deadline, as he backtracked on his insistence that he did not need additional
 faces in his squad after a frustrating summer of aborted deals.

After moves for Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk and Leipzig’s Naby Keita failed to reach a successful conclusion, Klopp suggested last week that he didn’t need any more players in his squad despite the addition of Champions League fixtures to Liverpool.

Now the Reds boss has changed his tune a little, as he confirmed talks are still ongoing with potential targets who are keen to join Liverpool, with the reluctance of selling clubs to part with their prized assets continuing to be the big issue.

“It's not about money, sometimes it's just possible or not possible. That's how it is,” confirmed Klopp.
“We convinced all the players we spoke to (to join Liverpool). We didn't have to tell them 'we might play Champions League' and then call them now we have qualified, but it's not about us.

“We are in talks, will something happen? I don't know. Obviously this transfer window is different to all other transfer windows.”
Liverpool have been linked with moves for Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Bayern Munich’s Renato Sanches and Schalke defender Benedikt Howedes, yet Klopp admits he cannot control whether deals will be finalised in the next few days.

“We'll see what happens, yes I'm happy at the moment, will I be happy on the 31st still? I'm not sure. Will I be more happy? Possible,” he added.
“Until the 31st that's how the business is, a lot of things are possible, in and out. If the transfer window closed tomorrow, I'm happy with it, that's how it is.

“The squad is good. At the weekend and the Champions League game, Divock Origi was not in the squad, he has nothing wrong. It just shows how big the quality already is, just one example, other players are also not in the squad.”
“Dominic Solanke showed everything you want to see from a new player in a short time, Mo Salah we don't have to tralk about this. Andy Robertson was great against Crystal Palace.

James Milner plays in midfield again, that's for us like a transfer. Alberto Moreno is a left back and is outstanding if only a few people will not remember he made a mistake 

against Arsenal, everyone would say 'what a performance'.”
Liverpool fans have been waiting all summer for some 

positive transfer news and while Klopp is clearly laying the groundwork for a quiet final few days of transfer trading, he is clearly hopeful of getting a least one deal done.

There is also no prospect of Liverpool selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, with the Anfield club making it clear that will reject a rumoured fourth offer from the Catalan club for their Brazilian midfielder.
