Sergio Ramos hit back against claims he used dirty tricks to help Real Madrid beat Liverpool

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has denied any claims he's the master-mind of their Champions League win against Liverpool as he hit back against claims he used dirty tricks to help Real Madrid win the Champions League final - saying he is 'only missing Roberto-Firmino saying that he got a cold because of a drop of my sweat'.

Ramos, having already been involved in a tangle with Mo Salah that caused the Egyptian to leave the field in tears, also collided with Loris Karius' face minutes before the goalkeeper rolled the ball against Karim Benzema for Madrid's opening goal. It has since emerged that Karius suffered a concussion as a result of Ramos' 'challenge'.

In an interview with Spanish sports daily AS, Ramos was asked about the reaction to Salah’s injury, and responded: “Bloody hell, they’ve given this a lot of attention, the Salah thing.

''I see the play well, he grabs my arm first and I fell to the other side, the injury happened to the other arm and they said that I gave him a judo hold.

''After the goalkeeper (Karius) said that I dazed him with a clash with me I am only missing Firmino saying that he got a cold because of a drop of my sweat.

''I spoke with Salah through messages he was quite good. He could have played if he got an injection for the second half, I have done it sometimes but when Ramos does something like this, it sticks a little bit more.

''I don't know if it's because you're at Madrid for so long and win for so long that people look at it a different way.''

Massachusetts General said on Monday he had experienced a concussion following a series of medical tests and a scan in America.

The incident with Real Madrid’s Ramos occurred two minutes before the first of his monumental errors. The German keeper first bowled the ball into Karim Benzema’s legs for the opener in Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat and then allowed Gareth Bale’s shot from 30 yards to slip through his hands for the third goal.

Salah suffered a sprained right shoulder following a heavy landing in a challenge with Ramos, but he has been included in Egypt's final World Cup squad following intense rehabilitation.

  1. I KNOW IT LOOKS LIKE sALAH CAUGHT HIM BUT Mo had control of the ball on the opposite side and Ramos then pulled him down to his opposite side and dropped on him. deliberate injury
