Mohammed Salah: I came back to England to Prove them - A lot of people told me, “Don’t go! Stay in Rome,.

Liverpool Player's Player of the Year winner Mohammed Salah Scoop both the PFA Player of Year award and FWA Footballer of the Year award and also overthrowing Tottenham's Harry Kane in the Golden Boot award as he had an indescribable debut season.

The Multi- award Winner scored a staggering 44 goals in all competitions and has quickly become a legend on Merseyside.

Salah has admitted to L’Equipe, translated by Get French Football, that he actually believed this kind of tally was possible very early on – proving that despite his humble nature – he’s got a ruthless killer instinct.

''Well, over the course of the season, I would say, I play on the wing, I don’t have to think too much about my goal tally.

''That wasn’t entirely true! After ten games, Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero and I had all scored around the same amount of goals.

''So I set the objective of being the best goalscorer in the Premier League,” he said.

''That was my secret. Reaching this goal, and being named player of the season, was amazing, it was one of the best moments in my life.''

Mohammed Salah also revealed what Drogba said to him after he scored a brilliant goal against Tottenham in a 2-2 draw in February.

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba held the record for goals scored by an African player in a Premier League season, as he scored 29 goals in 2009-10 but showed his class by encouraging Salah to break his record after he hit the 20-goal mark in February.

''When I reached 20 goals, I spoke with Didier Drogba,” the Egyptian told L’Equipe Magazine.

''He told me: ‘Please, break the record!’ to which I responded laughing: ‘No worries, I will!’

''And I managed [it]. So I thought to myself, I have quite a few games to play before the end of the season, I can break the all-time record! It’s a great source of joy for me.”

Salah had a Failed trial in his first mission in England, With People branding him ''a Chelsea flop'. but came back with a strong drive to prove everyone wrong as he had a stellar-season.

“I came back to England with the desire to succeed. A lot of people told me, “Don’t go! Stay in Rome, you have just come off a great season.

''But I wanted to do even better, and I feel that I have managed that at Liverpool,'' said Salah.

''Jürgen Klopp often asks that I be at the heart of play. He knows how to get the most from his attacking players. Just looking at the amount of goals we’ve scored in the Premier League and Champions League. From day one, he’s considered me a friend,” said Salah.

''We are close, even though, he’s the boss, and I’m a player. The quality of my teammates and their desire to help me score has also helped in my success. Plus, I work hard every day, with that desire to improve.''

The Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was impressed with the winger brilliant season as he backed the Egyptian International to become one of Europe best Players.

''He is young enough and has enough potential to improve, said Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

''That’s really good news for all of us and for him as well.

''There is still work to do and I’m really happy about that.

''I have no idea if he can score that number again of course because obviously it’s difficult to score that many goals otherwise other people would have done it already."
