Liverpool reject loan offer from Torino for midfielder Marko Grujic ahead of Serie A deadline.

Liverpool have reportedly rejected an offer from Torino for midfielder Marko Grujic.

The Serie A club wanted to take the midfielder on loan for the forthcoming season with a view to completing a £9million permanent deal next summer.

Grujic has been a player that manager Jurgen Klopp has received offers for during the course of the summer.

Lazio were linked with a move for the 6″4′ midfielder, but nothing has materialized from that. So too were Cardiff City, who appeared to be the frontrunners as they wanted to re-sign the Serb to help them avoid Premier League relegation – however Grujic himself rejected the move.

And now his Anfield exit has been blocked by the Liverpool hierarchy, who clearly don’t like some aspect of the move. The youngster surely doesn’t have a future on Merseyside, especially with the arrival of Fabinho and Naby Keita.

If Jordan Henderson and the Brazilian have to settle for a substitutes role in the opening day of the campaign, there is no hope for Grujic – who sits firmly behind the pair in the Reds’ pecking order.

But according to Goal, Liverpool are holding out for twice as much for the 22-year-old.

Jurgen Klopp is also believed to be a firm admirer of Grujic who featured in the club's pre-season campaign.

The Serbian joined the Anfield club from Red Star Belgrade in 2016 and has since had two loan spells, once at his former club and one at Cardiff last season.

Torino have until Friday's Italian transfer deadline to come back with an improved offer.
