Jose Mourinho 'angered' by Liverpool fixtures for 2018/19 season

Jose Mourinho is furious with the Premier League for giving Liverpool a more favourable series of fixtures than Manchester United following Champions League matches, according to reports.

The Premier League's 20 clubs discovered their schedules on Thursday morning, with Liverpool hosting West Ham on the opening day.

And they were also handed six Anfield fixtures directly following their Champions League exploits - including games with Everton and Manchester United.

United boss Mourinho, however, is said to be angry after Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have all been given an even split of three home and three away games on those match days.

The Times claims Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettinho are 'relaxed' over the situation the schedule has raised, but the Portuguese coach is mindful of the difference, and is 'likely' to address it next season.

Liverpool, of course, face six away trips before their European exploits, including Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Jurgen Klopp will not discover his side's fate in the Champions League until August 30, where the Reds are expected to be placed in pot three as they look to go one step further and lift their sixth European Cup.

United do at least get to kick-off the new Premier League season at home when Leicester City visit Old Trafford on August 11, before an away trip to Brighton and then another home match against Spurs.
