Jurgen Klopp criticises Loris Karius for mistakes against Real Madrid
The German keeper had a night to forget in Kiev as he gifted Real two goals in a 3-1 defeat.
Los Blancos took the lead IN 51st minute of the second half as Benzema stuck out his leg to intercept Karius’ throw towards Virgil van Dijk
Sadio Mane poked home an equaliser before substitute Gareth Bale restored Real Madrid's advantage with a stunning bicycle kick.
And Bale completed the rout when his powerful long-range strike was misjudged by Karius, who parried it into the goal.
“Loris Karius knows it, everybody knows it.”Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp
Pundits and fans on social media ripped into Karius for his howlers following the game.
And while Klopp was sympathetic towards the 24-year-old, he admitted that the keeper was to blame.
"Loris Karius knows it, everybody knows it," he said.
"That is a shame in a game like this, in a season like this. I feel for him, he is a fantastic boy. The second mistake is because of the first one.
"The bad parts are difficult to get rid of in a game like this.
"Gareth Bale's bicycle kick was unbelievable. We did what we could and the boys tried everything but it was not the best script for us.
"Everything was great until tonight. You go to the final to win it, it was proper chance for us and we did not take it."
