News Updates

Lyon Winger Nabil Fekir wants Anfield Switch before World Cup.

Reports in France suggest that Liverpool have opened the bidding but it is understood an offer is yet to be tabled.

The 2017/18 season hasn’t been over for a week yet but the transfer rumours are being produced at a fine rate. In fact, Liverpool have already completed their first major signing of the window, with Fabinho joining from Monaco for £43.7 million.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the 24-year-old is seen as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who left the Kop for Barcelona in January.

With Fekir starting out as a right-winger, his progression into one of Europe’s most talented attacking midfielders is similar to how Philippe Coutinho transformed from a good left wing to the heir to Andres Iniesta.

Fekir deal is Imminent

Klopp is clearly looking to keep Liverpool on its upward trajectory by targeting players that are ready to go straight into his starting lineup instead of the Reds’  previous transfer strategy of signing potentially great players and nurturing them into the final product.

With Naby Keïta, Fabinho and Virgil van Dijk some of the very best in their positions, making it to the Champions League final won’t be this team’s peak.

Fabinho talked up Liverpool’s potential move for the Lyon ace, describing him as a ''very good player''.

But Fekir played down his comments, and said: ''If Fabinho is to be my future team-mate? I will discuss my future after the World Cup not before.

''If I will sign somewhere before the World Cup? Honestly, I don't know.''

Aulas recently warned Liverpool that Lyon will not sell Fekir on the cheap this summer.

Fekir signing for Liverpool will be a brilliant business.

''There has been no contact at all with Liverpool, nor with any other club. I haven't talked about his future with him at all. - insists Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas.

''Nabil also really wants to stay after qualifying [for the Champions League. We're going to talk it through calmly.

''For the moment, nothing has been decided. You'll have to be very rich to recruit Nabil Fekir this year.'' as he concluded.

The winger impressive form this season has earn him a called up for the World cup duties.
