''Mohamed Salah cares more about the team than personal achievements'' - Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp does not want Mohamed Salah or Liverpool to change their ways as the Egypt forward chases the Premier League Golden Boot.

Salah has scored an incredible 40 goals in his first season at Anfield, with 30 of those coming in the Premier League to put him four ahead of two-time winner Harry Kane at the top of the scoring charts.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has played down Mohamed Salah's Golden Boot ambitions, insisting the striker's main aims are a top-four spot and reaching the Champions League final.

But Klopp, whose side head into this weekend's game at West Brom in third spot and are also preparing for the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against Roma next week, said at his pre-match press conference

"The main target for Mo is to finish in the Champions League [qualifying] spots and, in an ideal world, go to the final and win the final," Klopp said ahead of Saturday's trip to West Brom that precedes the first leg of next week's Champions League semi-final first leg against Roma

'We have to play normal football and if Mo is at his best he will be a goal threat. We don't have to change anything.'

"We got to this position because of the football we played, Mo came here because of the football we played. We don't need to change anything, we just need to carry on."

Jurgen klopp also gave injury update on the team: "No physical problems in the moment. Hopefully it stays like this because we need all the boys for the games."

West Brom are on the brink of relegation but a shock 1-0 win at Manchester United last weekend handed Manchester City the Premier League title, while they knocked Liverpool out of the FA Cup in January.

"We have to line up a really, really strong line-up. We respect always the intensity of the season," said Klopp.

"We respect West Brom, we respect the competition of the Premier League. We know we need points to be in the top four.

"West Brom were maybe lucky in a couple of situation against United but they deserved it. Now they have a home game and want to show that they believe in their little last chance

"We need to be at our best, we lost in the FA Cup – I don't need to remind anybody of that.

"After the game then we have to think about Rome, there is no other way."

Klopp was also quick to react to the huge exit of Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager, announced shortly before the Liverpool boss faced the media.

'I heard it when I came in this morning and I was surprised but it is his decision and you have to respect that,' said Klopp, whose side face West Brom on Saturday.

'He was – and is still – an influencer in football.

'He has a fantastic career, an outstanding personality and a really big player in the business where usually the thing changes overnight and he was there for so long. How many years? (22). That's long and very successful.

'Maybe in the last few months not everyone was happy any more about this or that result but that is normal. He always developed teams and brought in fantastic players and was the dominating guy in the mid-90s and 2000s when he was winning pretty much everything playing wonderful football.

'I always admired his work – since I've been in England it is a bit different as we have to challenge – but when I was in Germany he was always a big role model in the job and it will be different without him.
