KLOPP IS FINALLY FIXING THEIR LEAKY DEFENSE AGAIN - JAMIE CARRAGHER
The Merseysiders conceded 16 goals from 38 shots on target in their first nine games of the season. But since Klopp made tactical changes, his team have been breached just four times in nine games. Errors leading to shots faced have fallen from seven to just one.
And former Reds defender Jamie Carragher thinks he knows how boss Jurgen Klopp has stopped his team conceding.
"Since the Tottenham game, there has definitely been a change," Carragher told Sky Sports.
"The next game was Huddersfield and you are thinking that is a game that you just go and win.
“Since the Tottenham game, there has definitely been a change”Jamie Carragher
“Liverpool won 3-0 but it was evident right from the start of the game that the positions of the full-backs were different and it stayed like that."
Left-back Alberto Moreno in particular has been pushed into a deeper position to help prevent attackers getting to the byline.
And Carragher, who played 737 times for Liverpool, thinks certain central defenders may have been unfairly scapegoated.
"We are critical of Liverpool's centre-backs and I get asked that question a lot because of the position that I played," said Carragher.
"But I always think how difficult it would be to play for Jurgen Klopp at centre-back.
“I don't think there's a top-class holding midfielder and if your full-backs are leaving you isolated as well then it's not easy.
“So there has definitely been a change there and that has helped them not only results-wise but also defensively."
Liverpool will be facing a tough test against Arsenal on Friday night premier league.
