Liverpool are in a good position, Admit Can
Emre Can says Liverpool are "in a good position" to qualify for the Champions League knock-out stages following Wednesday's 3-0 win over Maribor.
Liverpool now lead Champions League Group E with eight points from four games, after moving up the gears in the second haf with three goals against the Slovenian champions at Anfield.
Mohamed Salah opened the scoring on 49 minutes with his 10th goal in 16 games for the club, and, after James Milner saw his penalty saved by Maribor's veteran goalkeeper Jasmin Handanovic, Can made it 2-0 on 64 minutes with a curling shot from the edge of the area.
And Daniel Sturridge wrapped up the scoring deep into injury-time to leave Liverpool on the verge of progessing to the knock-out stages of the Champions League for the first time since 2008-09.
"It was difficult in the first half because they were deep but we got more space in the second half and it was a game where we had to be patient," Can said after the game.
"We could do better this season but it is still early. Now we are in a good position in the Champions League and hopefully we will be in the next round."
a win today means that liverpool are little bit in control of GROUP E, but is still looks tight at the top, after Sevilla 2-1 win over spartak.
