Managing Liverpool would be my dream, the club has always fascinated me - Serse Cosmi

LIVERPOOL    are unlikely to part ways with Jurgen Klopp anytime soon.

But if they do, Serse Cosmi is ready to fill the German gaffer’s shoes at Anfield.

Cosmi never made it as a professional footballer.
However, he’s spent the past 27 years managing in his native Italy, beginning with non-league Pontevecchio.

The 59-year-old has since enjoyed stints at another 11 clubs, including Genoa, Udinese, Livorno and Palermo.

Cosmi also coached Perugia, who he led to Intertoto Cup glory in 2003.

He’s now revealed he’d love to have a crack at the Liverpool job - although he admits his chances of heading to Merseyside are slim.

Jurgen Klopp on a training session with his players

Cosmi told Transfer Market Web Radio: "It would be a dream to manage Liverpool.

"It’s a team that has always fascinated me - just like Premier League clubs in general.

"It’s most likely that I will never coach the Reds, but doing so would represent a unique goal."

In the meantime, Liverpool will be out to make it back-to-back wins against Burnley today.

Klopp’s side beat the Clarets 2-1 when they last faced off in March.
And Liverpool can leapfrog Sean Dyche’s side if they pick up three points.
