Liverpool forward Philippe Coutinho was absent from training once again on Tuesday but his team mates are set to “welcome back” the playmaker.

Philippe Coutinho was absent from training once again on Tuesday as the Reds underwent their final preparations ahead of the second leg of their Champions League play off against Hoffenheim.

Liverpool will welcome the German side to Anfield on Wednesday evening but Coutinho’s absence is set to continue. The Brazilian has been absent with a ‘back injury’ since the start of the month and has drawn criticism from all areas over the belief that his injury has been greatly exaggerated in an attempt to force a move to Barcelona.

Despite all this, Independent report that after the Reds ignored Barcelona’s ludicrous Sunday deadline over their £118m bid, “the player and his representatives are ready to admit defeat” and that the Brazilian “will look to talk to key Liverpool figures to smooth over the summer’s events.”

They also believe that once Coutinho returns to full fitness, the rest of the Liverpool squad will “welcome back their teammate with open arms.”

This is not likely to happen until after the upcoming international break that follows Arsenal’s visit to Anfield on Sunday but Klopp is set to be boosted by the ability to recall Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dejan Lovren to his starting line up for the clash.
