''LIVERPOOL VS MANCHESTER CITY TIE WILL BE FANTASTIC'' -  ADMIT FORMER LIVERPOOL BOSS  BRENDAN RODGERS.

Former Liverpool Manager and now Celtic Manager Brendan Rodgers has labelled his old team Champions League draw with Manchester city as a '' tie of the round.''  With the two looking to advance to the Semi-Final as the both remains the only England teams left in the tournament.

After Tottenham and United crash out in the round 16 from the hands of Italian giant Juventus and Sevilla respectively.

The two English arch Rivals were paired together in Friday morning's draw in Nyon. The two clubs have already played each other twice in the English top flight this season - with the Reds inflicting City's only Premier League defeat so far.

City strolled to a 5-0 home win over Liverpool in September, with Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane both scoring twice after Sadio Mane had been sent off.

Liverpool gained revenge at Anfield in January when they inflicted what so far has been the only Premier League defeat for leaders City, who were beaten 4-3 and needed two late goals to add respectability to the final scoreline.

Anfield will stage the first leg of the all-English quarter-final on April 4, with the second leg to be played on April 10 at the Etihad Stadium.

Rodgers is excited by the prospect of seeing two of the Premier League's heavyweight sides lock horns, and believes that it should take star billing ahead of a repeat of last year's final in Real Madrid vs. Juventus.

"It's brilliant. Two fantastic teams, it's going to be a special occasion," he told reporters.

"Obviously the first game is at Anfield so Liverpool will look to make a good start in the tie there. It's a fascinating game, it should be brilliant.

"It's just a shame that both got drawn together at this stage; it would have been nice for them to have been split up, to be honest, because they're both two very, very good sides. I think it's probably the tie of the round."

Barcelona will take on Roma for a place in the final four, meanwhile, and Bayern Munich were drawn alongside Sevilla.

And Finally the Reigning back to back Champions League Winners  Real Madrid will go one on one with the Italian Giant Juventus once again after last year final Heartbreak.
