Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Liverpool’s American owners are “happy” with the team’s progress despite their mixed start to the season.

Klopp explained that Fenway Sports Group have told him them are content although the manager insisted he has set himself the target of winning the Premier League at Anfield.

The German took over in October 2015 and steered Liverpool to two finals in his first campaign before securing fourth spot and Champions League qualification in his second season.

The Merseyside giants have yet to hit the heights this season and are fifth in the Premier League, 12 points behind runaway leaders Manchester City.

At a charity dinner in South Africa, when asked how his Premier League career came about, he said, as quoted by the Sun: “Why Liverpool? I had an offer of another historical English club two years ago, but I never felt comfortable with how they understood football. It didn’t feel right.

“When Liverpool called, I can’t explain it. It was right. We have to improve, 100 per cent. But we will. We are fine and the owners are happy. Liverpool is a fantastic club, and my aim is to win the Premier League with it.”

Klopp men will  be back firing on Nov 18 when they will host Southampton at their own ground soil Anfield, which will be followed up with another home game against Chelsea.

Klopp will be hoping for more good positive result after scoring a total of 11 goals in just a week, with has seen them closed-up gap with the top 4 contenders.
